Energy Efficient Doors
At Stratton we understand the importance of a thermally efficient home. By reducing your fossil fuel usage our windows & doors will help you contribute towards saving the environment with the added bonus of saving you money on energy bills. Our windows & doors range from C rated double glazed all the way up to A++ rated high performance triple glazed windows achieving lower us values when compared with other windows.
What are U value’s
U values are the measurement of the effectiveness of a material to insulate in building. If the material has a high insulation value then the u value is low. Single glazed windows will typically achieve a 4.0 u value but with our double glazed windows & doors we can achieve a 1.3 u value and our triple glazed windows are reduced even further to 1.0.
C rated windows & doors
Our C rated doors are typically used by the trade as it achieve the building regulation u value requirement of 1.6. In our UPVC Liniar casement windows this is achieved using a 28mm double glazed sealed unit made with 4mm soft-coat glass, a aluminium spacer bar with an air filled cavity.
A rated Windows & Doors
Our A rated windows and doors are what we recommend for the majority of our domestic customers. The A rated windows and doors achieve a u value of 1.2 with an overall rating (once installed with the glass and frame) of 1.3. In our UPVC Liniar casement windows this requires a 4mm Low-e soft-coat glass, a warm edge swiss spacer and an insulating argon gas filled cavity. This will keep your home warm and cosy all year round.
A+ rated Windows & Doors
If you are looking to bring your home into the 21st century by boosting your homes energy efficiency then Stratton’s A + triple glazed windows and doors are recommended. Our Liniar triple glazed windows will achieve a u value of 1.0 which is almost 40% less than our C rated range and typically even higher when compared with your old windows. This is achieved using a 36mm triple glazed unit with 2 layers of 4mm Low-e soft-coat glass, 2 cavities filled with insulating argon gas and 2 warm edge spacer bars. This increased insulation value will encourage you to use less energy to heat your home.

The glazing for your door is an important choice. The glass significantly contributes towards the style, security, thermal efficiency and acoustics of your door.
We offer a wide range of glass designs for our including bevelled glass options, obscure glass, leaded patterns and Georgian grids.
Bevelled designs are typically used on front and back doors for an impressive entrance. Along with this Georgian or leaded grids can also look good on a front and back door. This grid style can be copied onto your patio or French doors too.
If you just want to keep it simple then we also offer a range of traditional patterned obscure glass options.
For more examples of the designs download either the corresponding door brochure, the Pilkington pattern glass brochure or for custom designs and inspiration download the Stratton decorative glass brochure all of which are available in our downloads section.
Safety & Security
All glass in doors needs to be a form of safety glass so we install toughened glass as standard. For added security laminated glass is an option. This breaks like your car windscreen deterring the most determined break in attempt. We also offer an acoustic laminated glass to reduce noise levels. This is ideal if you live next to a busy road or another form of high volume noise levels.
