Textured obscure glass is frequently used in situations where standard panes of glass are not appropriate or a more decorative effect is desired.

Textured glass is often useful in situations where light needs to be let into a building, but visibility inside needs to be obscured, this is why textured glass panels are often used on front doors, they let light in but stop people from looking in.
